Dr. Amy Armstrong continues to work part time as a hospitalist with Baptist Medical Group in Pensacola, Florida. She earned her Bachelor of Science in 1997 from Troy State University in Troy, Alabama. Dr. Armstrong then furthered her education by obtaining a Medical Doctorate in 2001 from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. In 2005, Dr. Armstrong completed her three years of internal medicine residency and one year as the chief medical resident of internal medicine at the University of South Alabama Medical Center. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
After practicing traditional Internal Medicine for one year, Dr. Armstrong worked as a hospitalist at North Baldwin Infirmary in Bay Minette, Alabama for six years and later began her current practice in Pensacola, Florida in August 2012. She has always had both a personal and professional interest in fitness and health as it pertains to so many of the chronic illnesses in her patients. She has a firm conviction that if she can help people live healthier lifestyles – including maintaining proper weight and wearing sunscreen – she can make a difference in their quality and quantity of life.
Since 1997, Dr. Armstrong has been married, Jonathan Armstrong. Outside of work, Dr. Armstrong’s greatest joys are her two children Grace and Jack. She enjoys being a mom, and in her spare time, her hobbies include cross-fit, obstacle races, fishing, boating, and following college football. She believes in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and is grateful for any opportunity to serve him.
